Brownsman

Brownsman is an island of the Outer Farne Islands off the coast in Northumberland. Brownsman Lighthouse was built in 1800 and home to Grace Darling and her father William, who was the lighthouse keeper. The lighthouse was closed in 1826 when Longstone Lighthouse was established, at which point William and Grace moved to Longstone Island. The old keeper's cottage on Brownsman Island is now used by the National trust, which owns the Farme Islands.
