I have a painting in my house here in Canada of “Miss Grey of Brainshaugh” painted by Mason Chamberlin probably dating from the late 1760’s or early 1770’s. It is a large painting of a formidable, but attractive, well-dressed middle-aged lady. Could this person have any connection to Brainshaugh House in Northumberland? If so, I would welcome any information on both the house and who the Grey family was. In return, I would post a photo of Miss Grey. Thank you, Dennis Cavendish
