Bowkerstead


Bowkerstead is a hamlet near the village of Satterthwaite in Cumbria. Bowkerstead Farm and Grizdale Campsite are located at High Bowkerstead and a short distance south-west there is Low Bowkerstead, where there is a cottage and barn and a bridge over Force Beck. A school to serve both Satterthwaite and Rusland was built at Bowkerstead in c.1849; the school closed in 2006. Bowkerstead forms part of Satterthwaite Civil Parish.
