Beaufront Woodhead

Beaufront Woodhead is a hamlet in Northumberland, situated near Birkley Burn and located about 1½ miles north-east of Hexham and ½ mile north-west of Beaufront Castle. The farmhouse and cartshed here date from the 18th century. Woodhead Cottages and some of the houses are former farm buildings, which date from the mid 19th century, built as part of a planned farm development. Beaufront First School is located here and serves the wider area. To the north-east is the Kennels (house), which dates from the early 19th century and thought to have been originally built as a school room or hall. Beaufront Woodhead forms part of Sandhoe Civil Parish.
