Barnes Junior School


Barnes Junior School is located on Mount Road in Barnes, Sunderland. It is a Community school, with about 340 pupils aged 7 to 11. For many years it was part of Barnes School aka Barnes Council School. The school building dates to c.1900 and school log books held by Tyne & Wear Archive start from 1902. The building is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. Previously, the school had 4 houses (Dalton, Bowes, Ettrick & Pemberton) - these four families were local land owners from Barnes' history.
