In Northern England:

  • 28th June 2012: heavy rainfall caused floods over Tyneside, Northumberland and County Durham.
  • July: 2012 Olympics football played at St James' Park, Newcastle (6 of the matches in the mens & 3 in the women's tournaments).
  • 2nd July 2012: Tynemouth Station officially reopened by Princess Anne following a major restoration.
  • 29th August 2012: the ladform sculpture Northumberlandia was officially opened by Princess Anne.

Co-Curate is a project which brings together online collections, museums, universities, schools and community groups to make and re-make stories and images from North East England and Cumbria.
