1715
- 1715: Rede Bridge over the River Rede at Redesmouth built.
- 1715: The Jacobite Rising - an attempt by James Edward Stuart (the 'Old Pretender') to regain the thrones of England, Ireland and Scotland for the exiled Stuarts. Much of the rebellion took place in Scotland and Western England; a planned secondary rising in Northumberland on the 6th October 1715, involved James Radclyffe, 3rd Earl of Derwentwater, and William Widdrington, 4th Baron Widdrington.
