Bishopton War Memorial

The War Memorial in Bishopton, Darlington, is located on a green at the junction of High Street and Church View. The memorial was unveiled on the 12th of August 1923 by Colonel Thomlinson and dedicated by Canon Derry, the Archdeacon of Auckland.[1] It was built to commemorate 14 local servicemen who lost their lives in the First World War. Following the Second World War, the names of two local men who died in that conflict were added. The memorial is Grade II listed.
