The Blue House, Hendon

The Blue House was a public house located on Corporation Road, in Hendon, Sunderland. The pub was named after Blue House Field, which was the original football ground of Sunderland A.F.C., hosting the club between 1880 and 1881 for a rent of £10 a year, before the club moved to Roker Park. In 2015, a mural, depicting local Sunderland footballing legend Raich Carter was painted on the gable end of the building. Sadly, the pub closed in January 2024, sold for conversion into flats.
