Richard Broderick (sculptor)


Richard Broderick (born 1963) is a sculptor and designer based in the North Tyneside. He studied at Newcastle Polytechnic, 1982–1985, and was a member of the Northern Freeform group of visual artists, involved a range of projects, including the North Shields Fish Quay Festivals. Broderick’s work 'Groove', in concrete and copper and commissioned by North Tyneside Council, was installed in 1998 at Buddle Arts Centre, Wallsend. His polished steel 'Wave' is located by North Shields Metro station. Broderick work also includes 'The Sand Castles', installed on the Promenade at Whitley Bay in 1999. His 'Herma Merma Dragora' was installed in South Shields in 2009.
