The Miles Thompson
-
Description
"This Wetherspoon's pub in Allhallows Lane is named after the man who designed the building - Kendal architect Miles Thompson (see Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miles_Thompson_(architect) ). It was originally a public wash house and baths financed by local philanthropists, which opened in 1864. Called Shearman House, the building was later occupied by district council offices until the early 2000s. The building is listed Grade II - see Images of England for details http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=75345 ." Photo by Rose and Trev Clough, 2016. -
