"Public library, located in Stricklandgate. The building was opened in 1909. It is one of about 2,500 libraries worldwide which were financed by Andrew Carnegie, a Scottish-American steel magnate and philanthropist (see Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnegie_library ).
