St Catherine's Well (Boot)

    "St Catherine's Well is about half a mile east of St Catherine's Church, Eskdale, Cumbria, UK. It was excavated by amateur archaeologist Mary Fair in 1925 and her notes refer to local people having used it since 1870, particularly for water for baptisms. By 1952 it was described as overgrown. It was 'rediscovered' in 2010 by Eskdale local history group...."
