"Now "The Plough Inn" and dating from 1786, this is the meeting place for the "Twelve Men of Wreay" (see: http://test.cnmedia.co.uk/twelve-men-over-four-centuries-keeping-cumbrian-village-tradition-alive-1.764378 ) Date of acquisition by the State Management Scheme has not been traced, but Scheme records show the Plough Inn sold to Scottish & Newcastle on 8 April 1973.
