Interior of Abbeytown Parish Church

  • Description

"The interior was largely destroyed as the result of an arson attack in 2006. It consists of six of the original nine bays of the Cistercian abbey church. I am sorry to see that the congregation apparently subscribes to the erroneous but unfortunately very widespread view that stackable banqueting chairs with hooks to attach them to one another in tightly-packed rigid rows are suitable for theatre-style seating."
