Dilston Chapel
-
Description
"The chapel at Dilston Castle was built in 1616. It stands to the south of Dilston Castle. There had been an earlier chapel at the site, built in the 14th century, but it was demolished. A Roman gravestone can be seen built into the east wall of the chapel. This site is a Grade I listed building and a Scheduled Monument protected by law. http://www.keystothepast.info/durhamcc/K2P.nsf/K2PDetail?readform&PRN=N8986" Photo by Les Hull, 2010. -
