Brampton Old Church
-
Description
"This ceased to be the parish church more than 200 years ago, though services are still held here occasionally. For information about the building see [[1147725]] . The church is quite a way from the nearest centre of population at Brampton. It seems likely that a community was relocated from here, possibly around the 13th century when the local lord turned the area into a hunting park http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=pevsner%20brampton&source=web&cd=24&ved=0CEAQFjADOBQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fads.ahds.ac.uk%2Fcatalogue%2Fadsdata%2Farch-319-1%2Fdissemination%2Fpdf%2FCarlisle%2FAssessment%2FBrampton_assessment_report.pdf&ei=4whvT4YTlJbyA9_DyMAN&usg=AFQjCNH2iT6u9AGevS7x09tiIwWvxYjnzw&cad=rja ."
