The Paradise window, detail

  • Description

When we were at Lanercost, the guide suggested that as we appeared to love stained glass windows so much, we might like to visit St Martin's Church in Brampton, a few miles down the road. I have never walked into a church and been so overawed by the amount of glass and colour as there was here. And virtually all of it by Sir Edward Burne Jones. Truly amazing.
