Haig Colliery

  • Description

"Photographed from much the same position as before. The water-tube boiler house has been demolished and the chimney is coming down "brick-by-brick". There is a new boiler house with four short stacks in the foreground. The colliery is still in production with three years still ahead of it. The two steam winders ran till the end and are now preserved." Photo by Chris Allen, 1983.
