    "A photo of the old 1960s, Basil Spence designed, library building (thankfully demolished) is here [[69551]]. The new, light and airy, steel and glass Charles Avison Building [[1672226]], named after the 18th century Newcastle composer (buried here [[1666632]]), was opened on 7 June 2009. Its construction was recorded by Peter McDermott [[764696]] The tower block to the right, above John Dobson Street, is Bewick Court [[1671430]]" Photo by Andrew Curtis, 2010.
