"World War II lozenge-shaped pillbox, constructed of reinforced concrete 1940-1 as part of the Northern Command River Wansbeck Stop Line, located south of the village between the castle to the east and the road to the west. Six-sided, with a porch protecting the entrance and nine gun-slits. One of four pillboxes, all to this design, in and around Mitford, which are scheduled...." -
