River Tyne, (upriver)

  • Description

"Looking up river from the viewing platform at the bottom of Howard Street, known locally as the “Library Stairs” after the old Tynemouth Literary and Philosophical Society building opposite, also known as “St David's Mount“, from an old church which stood on the bank side or “Harbour View”. The boat crossing the river is the “Shieldsman” which runs back and forth from North Shields to South Shields." Photo by Ken Brown, 2005.
