colour run

  • Description

In March, Shiremoor Primary School held a Colour Fun Run at The Rising Sun Country Park to raise money for the worthwhile charity, St Oswald's Hospice. This was a result of a competition, involving several schools from all over the North East, which a group of then Year 5 children had won. The children had entered The Newcastle Building Society's Boardroom Challenge and presented a fund raising idea to the Managing Director of the Newcastle Building Society and his team. Their idea won and the children were given £1000 to cover the costs of the run. We had a fabulous day; the sun was shining and everyone enjoyed taking part in the run, becoming very colourful, playing in the park, enjoying the stalls, where they were able to get their face painted, have glitter tattoos, enjoy delicious cakes, purchase craft items and have a go on the tombola! Thank you to everyone who took part - it was a fantastic day!
