Industrial sculpture on Blyth Quay

  • Description

"Culture comes to Blyth! Simon Packard's 15m high 3d sculpture shows a steam locomotive hauling coal trucks along the staithe - if viewed from one angle (head on from the new access road to the quay) so the plates at the top of the stalks align perfectly. Viewed from anywhere else you get a 'scattered' effect such as this example here." Photo by Grahame Jenkins, 2005.
