Lime kiln at Greenchesters
-
Description
"They are built into the side of this small ridge above Greenchester Cottages. To the right of the kiln there is a disused quarry, where the limestone was probably quarried from.and the stone used to build the kilns. I was surprised at the quality of the stone work in the arches.
