Smulders fabrication yard from Hadrian's Road Metro Station

  • Description

"Smulders Group, which took over the running of Hadrian’s Yard from Offshore Group Newcastle (OGN) in 2016, is currently manufacturing 70m-high jackets for offshore wind turbines that will be used at the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm. Beatrice, located approximately 13km from the Caithness coast, will be Scotland's largest offshore wind farm, expected to be fully operational in 2019. The other, yellow structures with a tubular upper tower supported on tripods, will be attached to the seabed using suction-bucket technology at Vattenfall’s European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) located in Aberdeen Bay."
