The Church of St. Mary The Virgin
-
Description
"Pevsner says " The Crewe Trustees {see [[2571313]]} found the monastic church in ruins ... Using what walls still stood, they built an L-plan church incorporating the monastic chancel, crossing and N transept and the tower" that had, unusually, been built at the north end of the N transept in the 14th C. This view is of the west face of the N transept; the satellite image http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm?lat=54.84836784982635&lon=-2.0543047237398597&gz=19&oz=8>=1 may make the layout clearer."
