St. Andrew's Church, Newgate Street, NE1 - memorials, chancel; and Jubilee Chapel

  • Description

"See [[3737101]] and [[3741223]]. The small chapel on the south side of the chancel (through the doorway) was commonly known as the Priest Porch until 2012 when it was restored and opened as a chapel to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. It has a small window on its east side (left) that is thought to have been a "Dole" window used to distribute bread and alms to the needy. {Source: Church booklet.}" Photo by Mike Quinn, 2013.
