    "War memorial to dead of the Great War. 1919; unveiled 14 November 1920. Bronze signed west Reynolds-Stephens 1919. Granite and bronze. Arts and crafts style. Reddish polished granite cross, with wide stepped plinth on darker base, has bronze plaque set in arms and shaft. Horizontal composition of bronze shows figure of Christ in the tomb, drapery hanging down into the shaft of the cross, with remainder of space filled by outstretched wings of angels stooping over head and feet of figure...."
