Angel of the North, near Lamesley

  • Description

"Lower legs - Just off Durham Road is a recently constructed car parking area, that replaces the original lay-by, a path from which leads to this huge monument - huge not only in size, but also by weight. The 20 metre tall sculpture with a wingspan of 54 metres, weighs in at 200 tonnes. It was created by the renowned sculpture Antony Gormley." Photo by Dave Hitchborne, 2008.
