Site of Ryhope railway station

  • Description

"This image was taken on the site of Ryhope railway station. The footbridge is all that remains of the station. Ryhope station closed to passengers in 1953, although the railway line remained in use for freight until the 1990s. The railway route now forms part of National Cycle Network route 1."
