    "Country house. Late C17. Altered and extended c1720. Roof rebuilt and upper storey altered early C19. Further addition c1930. For the Shafto family. Work of c1720 done for Admiral Delaval. Dressed stone, rough-cast on garden side, with Welsh slate roofs. 3 storeys. Double span with 2-storey L-shaped addition to left. Entrance front: main block of 7 bays, has alternating rusticated quoins...."
