St Cuthbert's Broken Wheel at Lindisfarne

    The broken circle ('wheel') around St Cuthbert's effigy is to represent the broken journey of his coffin on its way to burial. This structure is found in the Lindisfarne Gospel Gardens. Lindisfarne Island is off the coast of Northumberland, England.
