Description"The South Tyne Colliery opened a pit here in 1906 - the chimney dates from that time. After the mine closed in 1931 the site became a brick and pipe works, which operated until the early 1960s (information from Haltwhistle Burn website http://haltwhistleburn.org/ ). At least some of the buildings are still in use, a timber products business has workshops here http://riversidetimberproducts.co.uk/ ." Photo by Rose and Trev Clough, 2014.
