Cresswell Tower

  • Description

"Easily visible from the road through the village, this tower is of circa 1400 and is of 3 storeys. The higher parapet in the corner nearest the camera indicates where the spiral staircase is, whilst close examination of the north [right hand] wall suggests former doorways, windows and a roofline, presumably from the 18thC house which once stood against this wall."
