    Blacksmiths, Allendale. People, L-R. Isaac Dixon of Prospect Hill, who had a butchers shop where the present Dale Salon is. Matthew Maughan, a Catton farmer. Jack Hutchinson, apprentice blacksmith, born 1906. William Hutchinson, Jack’s father and the blacksmith. The blacksmith’s premises were owned by Doctor Arnison, followed by the Forsters, and was on the site of the present Allendale Motor Co. Photograph in private ownership.
