Description
"This building was originally the Riding House, built in the mid-17th century by Thomas Errington, postmaster of Newcastle. It still retains its original doorway which is dated 1660. The initials 'TB' which are also inscribed are those of Errington's successor Thomas Browell. In 1673 this was the scene of alleged witches' gatherings...." -
