Damaged house in the 'Old Town'

People standing amongst the rubble of a damaged house in the ‘Old Town’ on the Headland, Hartlepool. This was caused by the bombardment of the Hartlepools by Germany took place on the 16th December 1914. This was the first time British civilians were in the line of enemy fire during a World War.
