  • Description

"Thomas Rickman drew up plans for a Gothic house and started building in 1828, but his client, Sir Edward Blackett, wanted an Elizabethan-style house and gave Rickman the push. All the standard mullioned-and-transomed-windows, canted bays and shaped gables. Grade II* listed. The house is now a hotel and that most ignominous fate has befallen its park - it is now a golf course." Photo by Stephen Richards, 2010, and licensed for reuse under a Creative Commons Licence.
