    "Public fountain. 1872. Limestone ashlar. Octagonal on square base. Pyramidal roof above cornice has foliated cross finial. On west face trefoiled panel above semicircular bowl, with leaf carving, resting on colonnette with carved capital. At left and right angles similar colonnettes and capitals (the right colonnette missing)....."
