New Bridge

Lesbury

  • Description

"Looking towards the "new" bridge over the River Aln at Lesbury. The bridge carries the A1068 road across the river. The bridge was built to enable the removable of traffic from the old bridge over the river which is said to date from the 15th Century. The old structure, which is still crossable by pedestrians, is grade I listed and a scheduled ancient monument." Photo by Graham Robson, 2014, and licensed for reuse under a Creative Commons Licence.
