"Another "public art work" - see also NZ2564 : (Part of) Blue Carpet Square and NZ2464 : The Past Is My Present To Your Future. This sculpture, by David Hamilton, was installed in 1985 and commemorates Charles Parsons who developed steam turbines for generating electricity and powering ships - see the Wiki entry LinkExternal link .
