Been crossing this bridge thousands of times in my life as both a pedestrian and using vehicular transport .....it forms an integral linkage between the northern and southern areas of the city and has witnessed many fine ships sailing under her massive superstructure.......sadly there is no more shipbuilding on the Wear which has left those who saw how vibrant and bustling this area was in its heyday crying into their beer.....Which used to be brewed by Vaux Breweries.... but thats another story !! l love this bridge !!
