Tuning In - Listening Back in Time - Chris Watson & Tim Shaw (part of Decoded 1914 - 18)

  • Description

Listening stations based on the North East coast during the First World War were designed to pick up long distance sounds and communications, helping forecast the immediate future. This installation is a reconstruction of distant voices and personal accounts of events on Tyneside from that period. Decoded 1914-18 was a two-week programme of audiovisual installations and events that explored the First World War and its effect on those living in Tyne & Wear. www.decoded1914.org.uk
