    My mam was 16 year old when the metro centre was built. When she was a teenager it was a great place to meet friends, go shopping, the cinema and metroland.It hadn't even been built it was wasteland, just mud and grass. She got her first Saturday job at Etam which was a womans clothes shop. A lot of people come to the north east to visit and it has brought many jobs to the north east people.

Co-Curate is a project which brings together online collections, museums, universities, schools and community groups to make and re-make stories and images from North East England and Cumbria. Co-Curate is a trans-disciplinary project that will open up 'official' museum and 'un-officia'l co-created community-based collections and archives through innovative collaborative approaches using social media and open archives/data.
