    My mam grew up in North Shields not far from the fish quay. When she was a young girl she can remember going to see all the fishing boats coming in, a lot of her school friends dads worked on the boats. She can remember when she was about nine or ten seeing the tall ships race come along the river tyne. She can also remember lots of fun times going to the fish quay festival with her friends.
