Metroland

  • Description

When my Mam was little she used to look forward to going to Metroland on a weekend with her friends and her Mam as a treat. Metroland was the UK's ONLY indoor theme park. It opened in 1988 but sadly closed in 2008 after some protest. The little train used to go round the park and people had to stop at crossings to let it past. My Mam loved the rollercoaster and used to race her friends back up the stairs to see who could get the front seats. I wish this was still there now so i could go but the site has been redeveloped and is now the big Odeon, bowling, amusements and restaurant attraction.
