The Metrocentre

  • Description

My mam was 16 years old when the metrocentre opened. Why was this place special to you She said it was such a great place with so much to do like go shopping meet with friends and go to the cinemas or metroland. What was it like when you were my age It was unused land , just mud and grass everywhere Have you got any interesting stories about it I had her first Saturday job there at Etam that was a woman's clothes shop. Is it special/unique to the Tyneside Yes, defiantly because it has provided jobs and I think it brings a lot of people to the north -east.
