    Lamentation or Pieta and the Maries Christ has been taken down from the cross, in the background. His body rests against Our Lady who is being supported in her grief by St. John. Mary Magdalene holds Christ's left arm. Joseph of Armathea and Nicodemus (with jar of myrrh) stand behind. To the right, also in the background, Christ's body is being laid in a cave tomb. On each side panels portray two figures holding jars of myrrh and sweet spices for the anointing of Christ's body.
