Aerial view of the Baltic Flour Mills, Gateshead nearing completion, August 1949 (TWAM ref. DT.TUR/2/3294C). The mills were built for Rank Hovis and opened in 1950. The mills closed in the early 1980s and only the silo building remains today. It has been converted into the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art.
